Counselling Services

One of the fundamental services the LMA provides is that of counselling and social work. This service is essential for our community. Counselling is provided for an array of matters including: family disputes, marriage counselling, mediation, assistance with government forms and information sessions for both groups and individuals.

Professional counselling provides confidential assistance to help people explore issues which are impacting on their life and important relationships. It is important to recognise that all people have emotional difficulties, feel troubled, have problems or feel overwhelmed at certain times during the course of their lives.

The LMA provides people with the opportunity to talk with a trained staff member to explore and reflect on issues facing them and empower the person to find effective solutions that work for them.

In addition to this, the LMA employs social workers whose central focus is Muslim women and children. Over many years, the LMA has developed a sound referral service based on a close network with service providers. Long-term counselling is also provided for younger children.
