Mosque Tours

Our qualified counselors provide guidance and support to individuals and couples navigating the difficult process of divorce, ensuring that all steps are handled with care, respect, and sensitivity. We are here to help you understand your rights and responsibilities while striving for amicable solutions that prioritize the well-being of all parties involved.
Consultation
At the Lebanese Muslim Association (LMA), we offer mediation services to help resolve conflicts and disputes in accordance with Islamic principles. Our experienced mediators provide a safe, neutral space for individuals and families to navigate challenging situations, seeking peaceful and just resolutions. Whether it's family matters, community issues, or business disputes, our mediation services are designed to foster understanding, promote reconciliation, and maintain harmony.
Nikkah & Walimah
The LMA offers marriage ceremony services that honour both Islamic traditions and Australian legal requirements. We ensure every marriage is properly registered with the NSW Registry of Births, Deaths, and Marriages, as we do not perform Islamic marriages without this registration.
When you decide to marry, you have the option to hold your ceremony in the elegant Grand Function Hall, the beautiful Lakemba Mosque, or a location of your choice. Our authorised marriage celebrant will collaborate with you to create a ceremony that is both meaningful and legally recognised.
By choosing the LMA, you ensure a seamless and respectful marriage ceremony that honours your faith and meets all legal requirements.

For your marriage ceremony, the presence of two Muslim witnesses for the groom and a guardian for the bride is required. Ideally, the bride's guardian will be her father.
The groom and his family, in consultation with the bride and her family, will provide the dowry in writing, as recorded on the marriage certificate.
All marriage details are captured on a prescribed form and signed by the bride, groom, guardian, and witnesses. Both the bride and groom will receive a copy of this certificate along with an official marriage license.
The LMA will retain a copy of the marriage license for our records. The official license will then be signed by the celebrant and mailed to the NSW Registry of Births, Deaths, and Marriages for official registration.
What are the official requirements?
The following are the official marriage requirements as outlined by the NSW Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages and readily available on their website.
Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM)?When you decide to get married, you must inform a marriage celebrant at least one month (but not more than 18 months) before the intended date of marriage.
You will need to fill out a Notice of Intended Marriage form, which can be obtained from the LMA office, or by simply clicking here - Notice of Intended Marriage
Once you decide to marry, you are required to give a marriage celebrant at least one month (not more than 18 months’ notice) of an intended date of marriage.
You need to complete a Notice of Intended Marriage form which is available at the LMA office or you can download here.
Both the bride and groom are required to provide the marriage celebrant with proof of age.If born in Australia, a full Australian Birth Certificate must be provided.If born overseas, a foreign birth certificate or a valid overseas passport will be accepted. If these are in another language, they must be officially translated into English.

If either party has been previously married, you must provide the marriage celebrant with evidence of the termination with either a Divorce Certificate (if divorced) or a full Death Certificate (if widowed). Certificates in a foreign language must be translated into English by an authorised interpreter/translator service.
Photocopies are not accepted.
Australian citizens marrying overseas cannot have their marriage registered in NSW.To obtain evidence of your overseas marriage, make sure you obtain a Marriage Certificate or any other supporting documentation before you leave the country.
Please provide at least three (3) forms of identification, one of each from Categories 1, 2 and 3.
If you are unable to provide identification from Categories 1 and 2, you must still provide at least three (3) forms of identification. At least two (2) of these must be from Category 3.
All documents, except foreign passports, must be current.
Photocopies must be certified as true copies of the original by a qualified witness, for example; a Justice of the Peace – The LMA is able to provide this service.
Ramadan at Lakemba Mosque
Each year the LMA host the faithful at Lakemba mosque and provide a free community iftar to ensure all those observing Ramadan have the opportunity to break their fast with freshly prepared food.
The LMA endeavour to feed over 500 people each day for the entire month.The LMA also facilitate Tarawih prayers at Lakemba mosque so members of the community can come together to perform the special congregational prayer after the night prayer.
During this special evening prayer, members of the community will aim to read the entire Qur’an over the course of Ramadan.Lakemba Mosque becomes a bustling community hub during Ramadan and is lit up in beautifully coloured lights to help create a festive atmosphere.
It also hosts many street stalls and food trucks to feed the congregation who attend the Mosque daily during the long nights of Ramadan.
Eid at Lakemba Mosque
Eid al-Fitr is the celebration that concludes the Holy Month of Ramadan and is observed by the visual sighting of the crescent moon which ushers in the new Islamic month of Shawwal.
The LMA host Eid Prayers at Lakemba Mosque to continue to Islamic tradition and celebrate the breaking of the month of fasting during Ramadan. On average over 60,000 worshippers attend the Eid prayers at Lakemba Mosque. During this time the LMA work with local council and law enforcement to close down Wangee road to help facilitate a safe environment for Eid prayer and accommodate the growing numbers each year.
To help fulfil one’s obligations during the Holy Month of Ramadan, the LMA facilitates the collection of Zakat al Fitr.
