Community Wellness Expo
Organised by the LMA in partnership with the Sydney Local Health District, the Community Wellness Expo helps open a dialogue on key challenges within the local community associated with health and wellbeing.
The expo seeks to address the challenges of staying healthy and managing diseases, with a focus on preventative measures and open discussion, as it looks to bridge the gap between service providers and communities. With a strong focus on raising awareness about the key health issues facing communities, the expo seeks to connect members of the many local communities with information on diseases, wellbeing and mental health as well as introducing the large variety of service providers to attendees.
Taking place each year at the LMA community centre, the expo features services including breast cancer screening, GP check-ups, nutritionist advice, baby and children health checks, diabetes risk assessment, fitness and sporting advice, dental health care, healthy mind tests, physio and chiro assessments and much more.
The Community Wellness Expo has been steadily growing every year with over 2500 people attending in 2017.
AMAN PsychSupport Clinic
AMAN PsychSupport Clinic is a free culturally and religiously sensitive community based psychology service. AMAN is the first of its kind within the community and is available free of charge without the need for a referral from your GP or a Medicare card.
The clinic offers English, Arabic and Bengali speaking psychologists who are available for consultation if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms:
- Low mood or depression
- Excessive worry, anxiety, stress or panic
- Obsessions or compulsions
- Trauma
- Anger
- Grief and loss
- Other concerns such as parenting, work-related issues, difficulties with sleep, relationship issues, issues relating to study, loneliness, feeling isolated from the community

Please note: Aman PsychSupport Clinic is not a 24/7 or crisis service. If you, or someone you know, are experiencing psychosis, distress, a mental health crisis requiring urgent care (for example, people who are at risk of harming themselves or others), contact Emergency on 000 or, if you require counselling, the below services are available 24/7.
If you are experiencing any of the following, please be advised that Aman PsychSupport Clinic is not suitable and you will need to access the aforementioned services
- The need for couples counselling
- Psychosis (e.g. hearing voices)
- A mental health crisis or requiring urgent care (e.g. people at risk of harming themselves or others)
